Draft Lottery

The draft lottery is modelled after the new MLB draft lottery arriving in 2023, adapted to 16 teams instead of 18.

The first six picks will be chosen by the lottery out of the sixteen non-playoff teams, and then the default draft order will be used for the rest of the draft.

Total 'lottery balls' - 9941

  • Second-worst record: 1650
  • Third-worst record: 1650
  • Fourth: 1325
  • Fifth: 1000
  • Sixth: 750
  • Seventh: 550
  • Eighth: 390
  • Ninth: 270
  • 10th: 180

  • 12th: 110

For both the Lottery and Standard Draft Order, ordering is a little changed from the past - old system ordered by worst record across all teams, and playoff teams could pick before non-playoff. Now it's worst record of Non-Playoff Teams, then DCS losers, LCS losers, WS loser, Champ.

New Leagues begin the Lottery in Year 2, Year 1 draft order is still determined by reverse salary order at the beginning of preseason.

  • *Note - we hope to expand the flexibility for the number of lottery picks, eligible teams, and odds in future updates, but stay tuned.
