Manager Page

On the Manager page, you can make important decisions to set your team's in-game tendencies. These settings determine various aspects of your team's performance. Here's an explanation of each setting:

Next Starting Pitcher

You can manually adjust the starting pitcher for the next game from the five available slots in your rotation.

Rotation Size

Choose between a default five-man rotation or a four-man rotation.

  • In a four-man rotation, only SP1-SP4 will start games and the fifth starter (SP5) is always skipped and not used in relief. If you want SP5 to start a game in a four-man rotation, you need to manually assign them as the starting pitcher.

When to pull starters

This determines the likelihood of pulling a starting pitcher due to a lack of effectiveness.

  • The slider ranges from "First sign of trouble" to "As a last resort," with a quicker hook for poorly performing pitchers as you move to the right.

Rest starters when

This setting determines the fatigue level at which the computer manager will pull the starting pitcher.

  • The slider ranges from "Exhausted" to "Fatigued" to "Tired," with a higher threshold resulting in starting pitchers being pulled later in the game when tired.

Always Use Closer In Save Situation

Choosing "Yes" makes your in-game manager aggressively use the closer in any last-inning save situation - fatigue thresholds permitting.

  • Selecting "No" reduces the frequency and predictability of using the closer but ensures they are the first pitcher to enter the game from the 9th inning onward if a bullpen change is needed due to toast or fatigue.

When to pull relievers

Similar to pulling starters, this determines the likelihood of pulling a relief pitcher due to a lack of effectiveness.

  • The slider ranges from "First sign of trouble" to "As a last resort," with a quicker hook for poorly performing relievers as you move to the right.

Rest relievers when

This setting establishes the fatigue level at which the computer manager will pull a relief pitcher.
  • The slider ranges from "Exhausted" to "Fatigued" to "Tired."
  • Relief pitchers must meet this threshold to enter the game.

Rest players when

The fatigue level at which the computer manager automatically rests a position player is determined by this setting.

  • The slider ranges from "Exhausted" to "Fatigued" to "Tired."
  • If a player's fatigue falls below the threshold, they will be replaced in the lineup by a bench player until their fatigue improves.

Steal bases

This setting determines the frequency of stolen base attempts, ranging from "Rarely" (least aggressive) to "Often" (most aggressive).

  • Note that not all players will attempt steals when set to "Often."

Take extra bases

This setting represents your team's aggressiveness on the base paths when trying to stretch an extra base or tag up on a fly ball.

  • The frequency of attempting to take extra bases ranges from "Rarely" (least aggressive) to "Often" (most aggressive).
